Learn how to add, edit and delete clients along with importing clients data to Swept
Keep your clients up to-date and informed by adding them to Swept! Clients have access to some Swept features that you can take advantage of by increasing your engagement with them. Clients have access through:
Swept Mobile App - Within the mobile app clients have access to their client channel for messaging.
Swept Client Portal - Within the client portal clients have access to messaging and viewing inspections through their computer browser.
Who Can Add Clients?:
Managers and supervisors are able to add clients to Swept through the web app and Swept+ mobile app.
Add a Client
To add a Client in Swept you must sign in to the Swept Web App. Once you are logged in please follow the instructions below:
- In the left-hand menu click Clients. All clients will be shown on this page.
- Click the green +Add Client button on the right.
- On the Add New Client screen add the required details.
- Click the blue “Save” button.
We suggest sending your new clients a welcome message. You can do this by going to the Swept Inbox in the top right and selecting the client channel.
Assign a Client to a Location
- To assign a client to a location choose Locations from the left-hand menu.
Click on the three dots to the right of the location you would like to add clients to and choose Clients. - Under the Assigned column check the client(s) that should be approved to this location.
- This automatically saves.
Edit a Client
- To edit a client choose Clients from the left-hand menu.
- Click on the green pencil to the right of the client you would like to update.
- Click the green pencil icon and you will see your client information appear to edit.
- Click the blue Save button at the bottom to save.
Make a Client Inactive
You can make a client inactive if you plan to have them use Swept again in the future. Their client channel will be deactivated once they are updated to inactive.
- To make a client inactive choose Clients from the left-hand menu.
- Click Active on the line with the client you would like to change to inactive.
- Their status will change to Inactive.
Delete a Client
- To permanently delete a client choose Clients from the left-hand menu.
- Click on the red x to the right of the client you would like to delete.
- A pop up will appear asking if you are sure you would like to delete them as it will delete all related information. If unsure click Cancel. If positive you would like to delete the Client click Ok.
Import Clients to Swept
Prepare your data
Setting up your spreadsheet in preparation for importing your data is key.
- Download the Clients Import File here: Clients Import File
- Save the file as a .CSV file after it has been downloaded. For instructions on how to save as a .CSV in Excel and Google Sheets click here.
- Do NOT edit or remove any cells in this file except the row with the sample data. All data in the header columns must not be edited.
- Columns with an * are mandatory. If you attempt to import the file without these fields completed, the file import will generate an error "mandatory information missing".
- Country data must be entered as the 2-letter country abbreviation. Both letters need to be capitalized. Examples: CA-Canada.
- Timezones must be entered exactly how the timezone appears in Swept before the brackets. Ex: US Eastern Time Zone - America/New_York
- Phone numbers must include the + before the country code.
⚠️ To add a phone number with the + symbol you must include an apostrophe before the + for formatting purposes. All phone numbers must be entered in this format '+15555555555.
How to import the data?

Navigate to Clients

Click on the Client Import in the top right available only for Admin Managers.

Click on Download Clients Import Template and fill out the information. Refer to the preparation section above.

Complete the template and save it as a .CSV file (Comma Separated Values).

Scroll to the "Import Locations" section at the bottom of the page in Swept and click on here where it says "Click here to select a file".

Browse your computer for your file and select Open.

Click Begin Import to start the import.

If your file has no formatting issues you will see a confirmation message to confirm the import. If there were issues you will see the errors appear. Please note if all mandatory fields are not filled out you will only see the mandatory fields error. If you import a file with all mandatory fields filled out but other issues then additional errors will appear.
